Masala TV recipe of Haleem by Rida Aftab from Tarka. This mouth-watering "Main Course" recipe for Haleem can be prepared in 30 minutes and serves 2-4 people.

Recipe Ingredients

1 kg Meat boiled
1 cup Wheat
1 cup Oil
1/4 cup Red lentils (boiled)
1/4 cup Yellow gram (boiled)
250 gm Onion
1 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Nutmeg
1 tsp Mace
1 tsp All spice powder
1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
2 1/2 tsp Chili powder
to taste Salt
1/4 cup Split black gram
1/4 cup Split green lentil

Recipe Method

In a pan, put together 1 kg boiled Meat, 2 1/2 tsp Chili powder, 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp Turmeric powder and Salt to taste. Now cook with 2 glasses of water over low flame.

Mash the meat well. Grind together 1/4 cup boiled Split green lentils, 1/4 cup boiled Red lentils, 1/4 cup boiled Split black gram and 1/4 cup boiled Yellow gram. Add all the lentils to the meat mixture and cook for another 30 minutes.

Add 1 tsp nutmeg powder and 1 tsp mace powder. Also add 1 tsp all spice powder and mix well.

Lastly heat 1 cup oil in other pan, add 250 gm chopped onion and fry till its color turn to golden brown. Pour this mixture on top of Haleem and serve hot.
