This three bean pulao is just wow! It is the ultimate desi comfort food, full of desi flavors and spices that is a must have!


  • Basmati rice                                     ½ kg
  • White cumin seeds                        1 tsp
  • Red chili powder                            6
  • Chili powder                                    1 ½ tsp heaped
  • Boiled chickpeas                             ½ cup
  • Boiled black chickpeas                  ½ cup
  • Boiled black-eyed peas                 ½ cup
  • Oil                                                       ¼ cup
  • Black cumin seeds                          ½ tsp
  • Yogurt                                               ½ cup
  • Mixed whole spices                       1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic                                    1 tbsp
  • Brown onion                                    ½ cup
  • Cloves                                                3-4
  • Small cardamom                            2
  • Cinnamon sticks                             1
  • Cardamom                                       1
  • Salt                                                     2 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste                         1 tbsp
  • Whole red button chilies              4-5
  • Green whole chilies                       3-4




  • Soak rice for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil, add whole spices, black and white cumin, ginger garlic paste, brown onion and fry the mixture.
  • Then add yogurt, fry well, add all the three boiled beans, soaked rice, whole green chilies and enough water for rice to be infused with flavor.
  • Cover and let it cook.
  • Then leave it on dum for 10 minutes and serve with raita.
