Ingredient For The Sugar Syrup:

  • Sugar 1 cup
  • Water ¾ cup
  • Lemon juice of half lemon
  • Saffron strands ½ tsp
  • Ingredient For The Jalebi Batter :
  • Flour 1 cup
  • Yogurt ¼ cup
  • Vinegar 1 tsp
  • Baking Powder½ tsp
  • Ghee or Oil, for deep frying

Method :
Add sugar and water in a pan. When the sugar melts, add lemon juice and keep stirring till one string consistency is achieved. Now add in saffron and mix well. Turn off the flame and set aside. Mix flour, baking powder, vinegar, yogurt and set aside for 5-7 minutes. Add ½ cup water and whisk till there are no lumps. Now whisk for 2 mins so the air incorporates. Fill the prepared batter in piping bag or ketchup bottle. Heat oil or ghee for deep frying. Form round whirls working closely from outside to the centre. Fry the jalebis till golden in colour. Remove the jalebi and immediately steep in prepared sugar syrup. Soak the jalebis for 3-4mins. Remove and arrange on a plate. Repeat till all the batter is used up. Serve hot.


  • cashew nuts 75gms
  • lemon (juice, wedges) 1
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Ginger (grated) 1
  • Garlic cloves (crushed) 4
  • Turmeric powder ½ tsp
  • Kashmiri chilli powder1 tsp
  • Carom seeds ½ tsp
  • Garam masala powder1 tsp
  • Ground Cumin 1 tsp
  • Black peppercorns ¾ tsp
  • Cream 50ml
  • Chicken drumsticks 6
  • Ghee or Oil 50gms
  • Onion (rings) 1

Soak cashews and let soften for atleast 2 hrs. Drain the nuts, then blend until smooth in a small food processor with the lemon juice. Mix the nut paste with the yogurt in a large bowl, and add the lemon, ginger, garlic, turmeric, chilli powder, carom seeds, all spice powder, cumin, black pepper, and cream.Using a sharp knife, make 2-3 slashes on each chicken drumstick and coat them with the spiced yogurt. Cover the bowl and leave the chicken to marinate in the fridge for 1-2 hrs, or overnight. Put the ghee or oil in a large roasting tin and heat it in the oven at 180 degrees C until it is really hot. Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the roasting tin. Spoon half the marinade over the legs and return the tin to the oven.After 15 mins, turn the legs over and spread over the remaining marinade. Put in the oven for a further 15 mins, until the chicken juices run clear when pierced with a knife.
Preheat the grill to its hottest setting and grill the chicken for 3-4 mins until browned. Transfer to a serving dish, scatter with onion rings and serve with lemon wedges on the side.


  • Red syrup as required
  • Bananas 3
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Ice as required

Blend everything in a blender. Serve chilled.
