Kringle is a Scandinavian pastry, with a hint of Cinnamon powder and caster sugar! Give this unique recipe a try and share it and let us know if you like it.

Ingredients for Dough:

  • Flour 350 gram
  • Caster sugar 40 gram
  • Lemon rind 2 lemons
  • Yeast 7 gram
  • Butter 75 gram
  • Egg 1
  • Milk 100 ml
  • Olive oil for greasing the pan
  • Oil for brushing

Ingredients for Spice Butter:

  • Butter 100 gm
  • Caster sugar 2 ounces
  • Cinnamon powder 2 tbsp

Ingredients for Topping:

  • Flaked almonds 25 gm
  • Icing sugar 75 gm
  • Lemon juice 15 ml

 

Method:

•  Pour in all the dough ingredients for the dough and mix them in a mixer till its soft.
•  Take out in an greased pan and let it proof for 20-15 minutes.
•  In a separate bowl, mix the spice butter ingredients perfectly until smooth.
•  Knead out the dough and spread out the spice butter on it.
•  Attached both the sides of the dough to create a roll like shape.
•  Leave it for proofing.
•  Brush it with oil.
•  Bake at 190° for 15-18 minutes
•  For the topping, mix the icing sugar and lemon juice in a pan on the stove to melt it properly.
•  Pour the icing on the top of the cut out kringle.
•  Spread out flaked almonds on the top.
