  • 1 1/2 cups rice, boiled
  • 1 cup grated carrot
  • 1/2 cup grated cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1-2 teaspoons crushed red chillies
  • 1 tablespoon rice or white vinegar
  • Salt, to taste


Chilli Chicken Ingredients

  • ½ kg chicken, cubed
  • 6 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornflour
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Pinch of cinnamon powder
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • Oil to fry
  • 1 onion, cubed
  • 1 green capsicum, cubed
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons vinegar
  • 4-8 green chillies, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped ginger
  • 100ml tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soya sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste

Heat the oil, saute carrot and cabbage. Add the rice, soya sauce, crushed chillies, vinegar and salt. Stir fry well and serve.

Stir together flour and cornflour, chilli powder, garlic powder, garlic cloves minced, cinnamon powder, ground cloves and salt. Add the chicken pieces and egg and combine. Marinate for at least half an hour. Fry the chicken, in hot oil until golden. In a separate pan, melt the butter and sauté the ginger, garlic and green chillies. Add the onions, green capsicum, tomato sauce, soya sauce, ketchup, chilli powder and vinegar. Stir in the chicken pieces and let simmer until the sauce reduces.


  • 3/4 cup sweet boondi
  • a few saffron strands
  • 1 tsp milk
  • 5 cups milk
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 5 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp rose water
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp pistachio slivers

Combine the saffron strands and 1 tsp of milk in a bowl and mix well. Keep aside. Heat the milk along with the bayleaves and boil for 20 minutes or until milk reduces to half its quantity, while stirring occasionally and scraping the sides of the pan. Remove the bayleaves and discard them. Add the sugar, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring continuously. Allow the mixture to cool completely. Add the boondi, saffron-milk mixture, rose water, cardamom powder and pistachios and mix gently. Refrigerate for atleast 2 hours and serve chilled.
