SHAN CHANA CHAAT Recipe:

INGREDIENTS:

  • Paprika
  • Himalayan Pink Salt
  • Red Chili
  • Coriander
  • Dried Mango Powder
  • Ginger
  • Cumin
  • Cinnamon
  • Fennel
  • Black Pepper
  • Fenugreek Seed
  • Carom
  • Bay leaf
  • Citric Acid
  • Maltodextrin
  • Hydrolyzed Soy Protein
  • Cane Sugar
  • Canola oil
  • Silicon Dioxide (anticaking agent)
  • Potatoes – 2 large,peeled, boiled and cubed
  • Onion – 1 medium,finely diced
  • Tomato – 1, finely diced
  • Green Chilies – 2-3, finely chopped
  • Garlic Paste – 1 tablespoon
  • Cilantro/Fresh Coriander – 2-3 tablespoon, finely chopped
  • Lemon Juice – 2-3 tablespoons
  • Tamarind Paste – ½ cup
  • Cooking Oil – 87ml / ½ cup
  • Shan Chana Chaat Masala – 3-4 Tablespoons
  • Chickpeas – 200g/ 1 cup
  • Boil in 10 cups water for 2 hours on low heat.
  • Add 1 teaspoon baking soda and boil for another 10 minutes.

METHOD:

1. In hot oil, add garlic paste and stir fry.
2. Then add onion and fry for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add tomato, potatoes and Shan Chana Chaat Masala and stir fry for 1-2 minutes.
4. Then add the boiled chickpeas after draining water from them and stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
5. Add tamarind paste and cook for 2 minutes.
6. Remove from heat; add green chilies, lemon juice and cilantro/fresh coriander and serve.
