Ginger Chicken Recipe | Lazzat | Samina Jalil | Desi Food

Ginger Chicken is the perfect blend of light tomato and onion curry with lots of ginger slices. It’s aroma makes it even more irresistible!

  • Chicken boneless 1/2kg
  • Ginger garlic paste 1tsp
  • Yogurt 3/4cup
  • Oil 1/2cup
  • All spice powder 1/2tsp
  • Almonds 8-10
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili (powder) 1-1/2tsp
  • Turmeric 1/4tsp
  • Milk 1/2cup
  • Mint 2tbsp
  • Ginger (chopped) 4tbsp
  • Onion (chopped) 4tbsp
  • Tomato paste 4tbsp

On chicken pieces add 2tbsp yogurt and set it. Heat oil and fry onions. Now add ginger garlic paste, tomato, red chili powder, turmeric and yogurt to roast the spices and with it roast the chicken. After that add ½ cup of water and cook till the chicken tenders. Now add milk, mint and 2tbsp of ginger. Lastly add salt to simmer it for 5mins. Now add the remaining 2 tbsp of ginger and in almonds add 2tbsp of yogurt and shallow fry them. Then dish out the chicken and garnish it with almonds and ginger to serve.


  • Beef mince 1/2kilo
  • Kidney bean (boiled) 2cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 1tbsp
  • All spices (mix) 1tbsp
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Tomatoes chopped (boiled) 3
  • Red chili (powder) 1tbsp
  • Turmeric 1/2tsp
  • Clarified butter 3/4cup
  • Green coriander ½ bunch
  • Salt to taste
  • Onions 2
  • Fenugreek seeds (dried) 1tsp
  • Green chili 3-4
  • All spices (powder) 1tsp


heat clarified butter and fry onions then add mince, ginger garlic paste, tomatoes, green chili, turmeric, all spices, bay leaf and roast them. Then add ½ cup of water till its roasted and then add kidney bean stew, fenugreeks seeds, all spices powder, ginger and green chili to mix them and set it to simmer. After 15-20mins set it out on a dish and garnish it with coriander and finely cut ginger and serve.


  • Taro (peel & cut) ½ kg
  • Tomato 1
  • Garlic cloves 4-5
  • Crushed red chili 1 tsp
  • Carom seeds ¾ tsp
  • Whole red chilies 4-5
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Green chilies 3-4
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp

Mix tomato, crushed red chili, salt and garlic then blend them. Now heat oil and slightly fry whole red chilies in it. Now add round cut taro root, turmeric and blended spices then saute it. Add green chilies and carom seeds with ½ cup water and let it simmer. When it gets tender and little gravy is left then add lemon juice mix it and serve.
