Pink Ombre Cake with Buttercream Roses | Bake At Home

Ingredients for Vanilla Sponge:

  • lour 2-1/2 cups
  • Sugar 2 cups
  • Baking powder 2-1/2 tsp
  • Salt 1/2 tsp
  • Vanilla essence 1 tbsp
  • Butter 1 cup
  • Eggs 4
  • Milk 1 cup

 

For Buttercream Frosting:

  • Butter 400 gm
  • Icing sugar 800 gm
  • Vanilla essence 1-2 tsp
  • Milk 2-3 tbsp (or as desired consistency)

 

Method:
• Cream the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
• Add the eggs one at a time, then, add vanilla essence.
• In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking powder.
• Add this dry mix to the butter mixture, alternating with the cup of milk.
• Mix well. Bake at 180 degrees centigrade for 45 – 55 mins.
• For buttercream frosting, cream the butter and add the sugar 2-3 spoons at a time till the consistency is light and fluffy.
• Add the flavours and milk to butter and sugar to achieve a smooth texture.
