For Vanilla Butter cream Frosting:

  • Butter 200 gm
  • Icing sugar 450 gm
  • Vanilla essence 1 tbsp
  • Milk 2 tbsp

 

For Decoration:

  • Fondant As per requirement
  • Candies 20
  • Skewer sticks 2
  • Edible gold powder

 

Method
• For butter cream frosting, cream the butter and add the sugar 2-3 spoons at a time till the consistency is light and fluffy.
• Add the flavours and milk to butter and sugar to achieve a smooth texture.
• Apply the butter cream frosting between the layers of the cake and then all over the cake until all edges are smooth.
• Put the cake in the fridge for half an hour to let it harden.
• Use fondants of three different colours and twist them to give it a marble look. Roll it out.
• Place the fondant on the cake and stretch it and fix it perfectly. Then smooth it out using smoothers.
• To prepare geode, using a piece of fondant, shape into an oval and make a hole in the centre.
• Insert two skewers at the base to create a stand.
• Brush the fondant with a little water and start to build your geode cake topper by sticking crushed sugar candies.
• Once you form the shape of a crystal, paint the centre and the edge with edible gold powder.
• Let it dry over night before you use it on the cake.
• Place this geode in the middle of the cake
