  • Fish 5-6 pieces
  • Oil 1/4 cup
  • Onions 3 (large)
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Tomatoes 2 large
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves 1 tbsp
  • All spice powder 1tsp


Wash the fish and sprinkle salt both sides. Then in a wok, heat oil and put 1/2 tsp turmeric powder. Now heat oil and fry the fish pieces until golden brown. Fry all pieces same way, sprinkle some coriander powder and red chili powder on the fish pieces. Then in the same wok, add sliced onions and fry them till brown. Now add ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then add chopped tomatoes and sauté well. Now add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chili powder and sauté till tomatoes are soft. Then place the fried fish pieces on top and cover for 4-5 mins. Now mix well and add all spice powder and chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot.


  • Spinach leaves (washed and finely chopped) 2 cup
  • Fenugreek leaves (washed and finely chopped) 1 cup
  • Dill leaves, (washed and finely chopped) 1/2 cup
  • Split chickpeas (boiled) 1/2 cup
  • Onions (finely chopped) 2
  • Tomatoes (finely chopped) 2
  • Ginger (finely chopped) 1 inch piece
  • Clarified butter 1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • Garlic (finely chopped) 6 cloves
  • Red chili powder 2 tsp
  • Green chilies 2-3


Wash and chop all the required vegetable and greens. Then in a pan heat clarified butter on medium flame, start by adding the onions, sauté for a couple of minutes.
Then add ginger, garlic and sauté for a couple of minutes. Now add the tomatoes and cook until mushy. This will take about 2 minutes. Once it is done, add the remaining ingredients including turmeric powder coriander powder, red chili powder, green chili, spinach leaves, fenugreek leaves, dill leaves, split chickpeas. Sauté it for about 4 to 5 minutes. Now add salt to taste and 1 cup of water, cover and cook for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Open the lid and mash the Sai bhaji using a potato masher to bring it to a mushy consistency. Serve hot.
