Urad daal khichdi | Dawat | Chef Abida Baloch

Ingredients:

  • Rice 2 bowl
  • Black gram 1 cups
  • Salt to taste
  • Sliced onion 1 large
  • Whole red chilies 4
  • Clarified butter 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Green chilies 3
  • Ginger 1 tbsp

 

Method:
Half boil split black gram with salt, ginger and green chilies. Then add soaked rice and cook. Heat clarified butter adds whole red chilies, cumin seeds, onion and pour tempering over rice and serve.

Ingredients:

  • Split green gram 1 cup
  • Beef ½ kg
  • Whole all spice 1 tbsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Tomatoes 3
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • All spice powder 1tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil ½ cup
  • Fried onions 2
  • Fried onion for garnish
  • Green chilies for garnish
  • Green coriander for garnish
  • Ginger for garnish

Method:
Heat oil then fry beef with ginger garlic paste and whole all spice. Now add tomatoes, fried onion, all powdered spices and cook till meat gets half done. Then split green gram and cook. When it gets tender and all water dries out then add all spice powder. Garnish with fried onion, ginger, green chilies and green coriander.
