Here is the perfect recipe for days when you are feeling lazy; it is super easy to make yet delicious!

Ingredients:

  • Rice                           ½ kg
  • Boiled chickpeas      250gm
  • Oil                              ½ cup
  • Ginger garlic paste   1 tbsp
  • Yogurt                       ½ cup
  • Fried onion               1 cup
  • Red chili powder      1 tbsp
  • Turmeric                   ½ tsp
  • Crushed coriander   1 tbsp
  • All spice powder       1 tsp
  • Chicken powder       ½ tbsp
  • Green chilies            3
  • Coriander                  ¼ cup
  • Bay leaves                 2 – 3
  • Water                        1 cup
  • Cardamon                 4
  • Star anise                  2
  • Cinnamon sticks       2
  • Salt                            ½ tbsp
  • Salt                            to taste
  • Cumin                       1 tsp

 

 

Method:

  • In a pan, heat oil add onions until brown.
  • Now add ginger, garlic, tomato paste, green chilies, turmeric powder, salt, cumin seeds, black peppercorns and fry well.
  • Then add water, boiled chick peas.
  • When it starts to boil, add soaked rice and cook.
  • When water dries, let it simmer and after 10 minutes removes from the stove.
  • Chanay ka Pulao is ready.
