Ingredients:

  • Lotus roots (boiled and sliced) 1/2 kg
  • Beef (boiled) 1/2 kg
  • Onions 3 medium
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Cumin seeds (roasted, crushed) 1 tsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Tomatoes (medium) 2
  • Yogurt 1/2 cup
  • Oil as required
  • Fresh coriander as required

 

Method:
In the cooker heat oil and fry the onions until golden brown. Then add ginger garlic paste. Cook well. Now add tomatoes, yogurt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt and red chili powder. Cook well. Then add beef and lotus roots. Cook well. Now add 1 cup water and cook for another 10-15 minutes. Then add roasted and crushed cumin and all spice powder. Mix well. Lastly add fresh coriander and serve hot.

  • Potatoes (peeled and sliced) 3
  • Lotus Stem (sliced and boiled) 2 cups
  • Tomato puree 1/2 cup
  • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder 2 tsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Fresh coriander (finely chopped) few
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Onion (sliced) 1
  • Green chilies 4

 

Method:
Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds and let them crackle. Then add onion and potatoes sauté for a while add ginger garlic paste and sauté well for 3-4 minutes until the paste turns golden-brown and the raw smell goes away. Now add the red chili powder, turmeric and coriander powder. Top with salt, tomato puree and continue to cook for 2 minutes more. Stirring continuously, until you see oil leaving the sides of the pan. This is an indication that the masalas are cooked through and potatoes are done add lotus stem rounds, stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes until oil separated add green chilies, green coriander and pour the sabzi into a serving bowl and serve hot.
