10 Ways To Treat Swollen Feet

1.   Do A Salt Water Soak:

The magnesium sulfate in Epsom salt is easily absorbed through the skin and helps improve circulation and reduce swelling.

 

2.  Elevate Your Feet:

Your legs need to be placed one foot above heart level for a period of ten to fifteen minutes, three to four times a day to improve circulation and reduce swelling

 

3.  Contrast Hydrotherapy:

Alternate between dipping your feet in a tub of hot and cold water to reduce swelling, as warm water improves circulation and cold water stops swelling and inflammation. Put your feet in warm water for 3-4 minutes and then cold immediately after for 1 minute. Do this for around 15-20 minutes

 

4.  Ginger:

As an anti inflammatory ginger helps reduce swelling and can used in either of the following 2 ways: (i) massage your swollen feet with ginger a few times a day or (ii) drink 2-3 cups of ginger tea a day

 

5.   Lemon Water:

Drinking lemon water helps flush out toxins in your body that may be contributing to swelling . Mix lemon juice in warm water, add honey and drink 2-3 times a day.

 

6.  Get A Foot Massage

Improves blood flow and therefore swelling

 

7.  Change Your Socks:

Wearing tight socks restricts blood flow and may lead to your feet swelling up.

 

8.  Stay Hydrated:

Not drinking enough water in a day can lead to swelling

 

9.  Go For A Swim:

Taking the impact and weight off of your feet, ankles, and calves during a 30-minute swim each day can lessen swelling and relieve inflammation pain

 

10. Avoid Salt And Caffeine:

Reducing your daily salt and caffeine intake can do much to alleviate fluid from forming in your ankles and feet .
